Anonymous visitor statistics
Our website uses Google Analytics to track how users arrive at and click through our website. All data is anonymised and aggregated with the help of WordPress plugins, therefore no personally identifiable information is collected or stored via cookies by Google Analytics or Arbor Vitae Arboriculture. These are the Google Analytics cookies applied using their default expiration times:
Our contact form uses reCAPTCHA technology to help prevent spam and improve website security. The reCAPTCHA analyses user and browser information (such as mouse clicks, typing patterns and Google cookies) to determine whether the user is a real person or a “bot”. Completion of the contact form allows reCAPTCHA to set a cookie that will expire after two minutes:

Turning cookies off
You can usually switch cookies off by adjusting your browser settings to stop it from accepting cookies or using options such as Google Analytics’s Chrome browser opt-out extension. Doing so however will likely limit the functionality of our website and a large proportion of the world’s websites as cookies are a standard part of most modern websites.
You can also opt-out of Google Analytics tracking for this website only, which will set a long term cookie (to allow the browser to remember you have opted out):
It may be that your concerns around cookies relate to so called “spyware”. Rather than switching off cookies in your browser you may find that anti-spyware software achieves the same objective by automatically deleting cookies considered to be invasive.
